XD20/26II
Sliding-Headstock Swiss Lathe

The Hanwha XD20/26II is one of the most widely installed models in the Hanwha XD family, covering bar capacities of up to Ø20 mm or Ø26 mm. Its strength lies in a highly configurable tooling platform: the standard four-position gear-modular cross unit can be swapped for Cross Unit 5 or Cross Unit 6 options, giving shops up to six cross drilling and milling positions. The back tool post accepts up to six tools as an option, and the modular design makes tool changes straightforward. The machine is available in four guide bush configurations — H (guide bush), N (non-guide bush), NH (convertible) and M (cross 5-axis with long drills) — allowing it to adapt to both long slender turned parts and shorter work. Z1 stroke in guide bush mode is 210 mm for Fanuc-equipped machines and 240 mm for Siemens-equipped machines, reflecting the slightly different headstock travel on each variant. The main spindle turns at 10,000 rpm (Ø20 mm) or 8,000 rpm (Ø26 mm), driven by a 2.2/3.7 kW motor for the 20 mm version and 2.2/5.5 kW for the 26 mm version (Fanuc); the Siemens configuration uses a 14.4 kW spindle motor. The front tool post holds five ER16M tools at Ø25 mm shank. Cross drilling speed is 6,000 rpm on both Fanuc and Siemens variants (1.0 kW Fanuc / 1.02 kW Siemens motor). The back tool carries four ER16 positions as standard (two fixed, two driven at 6,000 rpm). A 2-tool off-centre drill option is available on the sub-spindle, with the choice between driven ER16 tools (standard) or fixed long drills for deep-hole work. At 2,700 kg and 2,260 x 1,230 x 1,710 mm, the XD20/26II offers a solid footprint for a full-capability Swiss centre. AMT Machine Tools is the Canadian dealer for Hanwha, supplying the XD20/26II with full local support.

FAQ

XD20/26II Questions

Answers to common questions about the XD20/26II.

The XD20/26II accommodates bar stock up to Ø20 mm or Ø26 mm. The machine uses TF25 chuck and TD25-NS guide bush for the 20 mm range, or TF32 chuck and CD25 guide bush for the 26 mm range.

The standard configuration includes four ER16 cross drill positions. An optional Cross Unit 5 provides five ER16M positions, and Cross Unit 6 extends this to six positions mixing ER11M and ER16 holders. The cross unit uses a gear-modular design for easy tool changes.

The XD20/26II is available with either Fanuc 32i-B or Siemens 828D control. The Z1 guide bush stroke differs slightly between the two (210 mm on Fanuc, 240 mm on Siemens).
