The XD42 accommodates bar stock up to Ø42 mm, making it one of the largest-capacity sliding-headstock Swiss lathes in the Hanwha range. It uses a built-in motor with a hydraulic chucking cylinder and three-toggle system to maintain a firm grip on larger-diameter materials including stainless steel and alloy bar.
The XD42 runs on the Fanuc 0i-TF Plus controller, which supports Cs spindle control on both the main and sub spindles for compound turning and milling operations.
Yes. The XD42 ships in an NH (convertible) configuration that lets operators switch between guide-bush and non-guide-bush mode. Non-guide-bush mode reduces material waste on shorter workpieces and is well suited to parts where the length-to-diameter ratio does not require full guide-bush support.
